Arizona Automotive Institute’s CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer program prepares students for careers in commercial driving and transportation. Our hands-on training helps prepare students to fulfill Arizona CDL requirements*.

* AAI does not guarantee third-party licensure. Licensure requirements for taking and passing license examinations are not controlled by AAI but by outside agencies and are subject to change by the agencies without notice to AAI. Therefore, AAI cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take license examinations, regardless of their eligibility status upon enrollment. Graduates of the CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer program must obtain a Commercial Driver's License to be employed in the field.

Program Requirements

Commercial Truck Driving is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the state. Commercial truck drivers are subject to strict standards such as:

  • Having a valid driver’s license at the time of enrollment and during their training period
  • Being 21 years old to drive state-to-state (interstate classification)
  • Passing the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) physical and consent to drug testing prior to starting training and randomly throughout training
  • Being able to read, speak, and writing English well enough to pass the Commercial Driver’s License test, converse with the general public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make entries on reports and records
